7月1日起, 2015年至6月30日, 2020, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), American Association of Colleges of 整骨疗法的医学 (AACOM) and the 认证 Council for 医学研究生教育 (ACGME) worked to successfully transition to a single accreditation system for graduate medical education in the U.S. The single GME accreditation system provides for consistent methods of evaluation and accountability, it enhances opportunities for all resident physicians, and it enhances transparency to outside entities, 包括联邦政府, 授权董事会, credentials committees and the public.

整骨疗法的识别 is a designation conferred by the ACGME’s 整骨疗法的识别 Committee upon ACGME-accredited programs that demonstrate, through a formal application process, the commitment to teaching and assessing Osteopathic Principles and Practice (OPP) at the graduate medical education level.

It is expected every ACGME-accredited program with 整骨疗法的识别 will create an osteopathic-focused learning environment that spans the length of the educational program. Each program has varying resources and missions based on geographic location, 教师背景, and the needs of the patient population it serves. The avenues to attain an osteopathic learning environment are equally varying, to allow each individual program to successfully meet the Requirements for 整骨疗法的识别.

Post-graduate training occurs through both longitudinal and focused educational experiences. 本着这种精神, an osteopathic learning environment provides experiences that support this developmental process for each program and the learners within it. 毕业后 Milestones allow for this developmental growth throughout the course of the educational program.
