Those “hard skills” are complemented with the traits, knowledge and “soft skills” developed and applied in this certificate to set the graduate apart and provide what employers seek.

助教类, 由经验丰富的专业人士授课, provide practical workplace and 领导 skills that will enable successful students to enter and excel in a variety of professions. 的 TAS certificate can complement many traditional undergraduate degree programs in the fields of business (e.g.(数据分析)、卫生、技术(例如.g., computer technology, engineering technology) and public service (e.g.、执法或刑事司法).

完成证书, students will select three TAS courses from topics such as workplace effectiveness, 协作, 领导, 多样性和道德. Students must select an additional course from the Science in Applied Management (SAM) program on topics including supervision and managerial communications to finish the required 15 credit hours.

课程 in the certificate offer students the opportunity to prepare for a highly technical work environment while supplementing their current major with the soft skills necessary to be successful in today’s workplace. 选择三门课程:

  • Approaches to Workforce Effectiveness (TAS 3010)
    Develop skills that employers need including oral communications and listening skills. Students will be introduced to the complex workforce and the skills necessary for the 21st century workplace. TAS 3010 satisfies 俄亥俄州 BRICKS Speaking and Listening Bridge.
  • Diversity, Ethics, and Collaboration (TAS 3110)
    Course instruction includes developing healthy relationships in the workplace. Students will examine the approaches to developing employee and 领导 roles as ethical workers, 团队合作的关系, and the understanding of diversity’s value including the advantages it brings to work and life. TAS 3110 satisfies the 俄亥俄州 Bricks Capstone or Culminating Experience.
  • Leadership and Workplace Effectiveness (TAS 4110)
    Course explores the contemporary workplace effectiveness and organizational development concepts that guide individual, 团队和工作场所的变化. Students will develop their 领导 expertise and gain insight into drivers for 领导 theory and practice today.
  • 工作场所的合作(TAS 4440)
    Discover the advantages and examine the disadvantages of 协作 in the workplace. Students explore elements of effective 协作 and are encouraged to recognize personal strengths and weaknesses in a variety of situations.

    Course introduces students to the field of management at the supervisory level including the functions and roles of management in organizations. Students will obtain supervisory skills necessary for today’s workplace.
  • Strategic Managerial Communication (SAM 3250J)
    Students with basic business form and format competencies for letters, 备忘录, 报告, and presentations are provided opportunities to practice and improve written communication skills vital to career success in this writing enriched course.
